I know its really not that crazy of an idea, but technology never ceases to amaze me. Edit: I guess I'm not the only one whose never seen this before either, so I shall explain. These are two brand new (to us) Sharp MFPs.

In the screenshot, the left image is a:, and the right:. While flipping through the manual, I stumbled across explaining how to connect to the copier via VNC, it's really that simple.

The functionality is actually built right into the factory firmware. I about shat myself in disbelief, but it works flawlessly. The crazy thing is that this feature was never mentioned to us during any of the demos or sales calls. The copier tech that helped us get familiar with the machines didn't even mention it.

For MFPs we used to have almost all of were Minolta Di3010s, but they started showing their age and we began replacing them. We originally went with 3 Canon imagerunners, and they work great. We, unfortunately, changed companies for who we go through for our copiers. We have then further replaced 3 of the Minoltas with 3 slightly used Ricoh Aficio 3245Cs and 7 or so Toshiba 452/352s. Out of all the copiers we have, the 3 Ricohs combined have more service calls than all the Canons, Toshibas, and the few remaining Minoltas (some with 700k or more total prints) combined.

The Ricohs aren't that old (they vary in age, but each have only 100-200K prints TOPS) but if they were to break and never work again, I would happily replace them with just about any other brand.
